REPORT 2005
International Exhibition and Conference
ATOMIC ENERGY & ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
October 4-6, 2005
Russia, Moscow, World Trade Centre
The first "ATOMIC ENERGY & ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING" International Exhibition and Conference, a key event for specialists in the area of nuclear power, was held in Moscow, World Trade Centre on October 4-6, 2005. The nuclear power industry is the most important and viable sector of Russia's economy on the global market. This industry has enormous economic potential. This year, the manufacturers of the industry had their own specialized exhibition in Moscow. The exhibit gained international status due to the number of participants from all over the world.
The "ATOMIC ENERGY & ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING" International Exhibition and Conference was organized by OOO INCONEX and supported by Federal Atomic Energy Agency ROSATOM, ROSENERGOATOM, Federal Department of Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Control, and RSNTTD.
" It is nice to note that it is this year that such an exhibition is organized for the first time, when Russian atomic industry celebrates its 60th anniversary, and Atomic Industry Workers Day is celebrated for the first time.
The rapid development of scientific and technological progress has urged the immediacy and singular importance of business cooperation of specialists. Developments of national science, and achievements of various Russian industrial enterprises presented today at the exhibition, are of great importance for the development of Russian atomic power engineering and industry."
Ivan Mikhaylovich Kamenskikh,
Deputy Head of Federal Atomic Energy Agency
"Modern development of atomic energy is undergoing an upsurge as new nuclear power units are built and launched, and the operating nuclear power plants are equipped with modern hi-tech equipment. This makes the new exhibition an important and promising event."
Stanislav Ivanovich Antipov,
General Director
ROSENERGOATOM
"In recent years, the nuclear power industry of Russia has demonstrated a stady development: the volume of energy produced has increased, new power blocks have been introduced, the life span of first-generation power blocks has been prolonged, and the number of violations in operating power blocks at nuclear power plants have decreased.
At the same time, the primary obligatory condition for the development of the nuclear power industry is ensuring safety, which greatly depends on the reliability of equipment, instruments, and materials used in power plants.
Developing the nuclear power industry and improving its safety determine the importance of the business cooperation of specialists, and the necessity of holding specialized international exhibitions and forums."
Valery Sergeevich Bezzubtsev,
Head of the Board of Directors of the
Federal Department of Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Control
Participants of the opening ceremony of the "ATOMIC ENERGY & ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING " International Exhibition and Conference: Alexander Shmygin, Vice Head of the Department of the Nuclear Power Industry; Vladimir Klyuev, President of the Russian Society of Nondestructive Control and Technical Diagnostics and Vice President of the European Federation of Nondestructive Control; Nikolai Shingarev, Director of the Center of Information and Exhibition Activities of the Federal Atomic Energy Agency; Natalia Arkhipova, Director of OOO INCONEX Exhibition Company.
In her address to the participants and guests of the exhibition, Natalia Arkhipova, Director of OOO INCONEX Exhibition Company said:
"the main goals of organizing the " ATOMIC ENERGY & ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING " International Exhibition and Conference: ensuring business cooperation of specialists, creating favorable conditions for the development of regional and international relations, establishing business ties between developers and manufacturers of equipment with potential consumers, attracting attention to new designs, and familiarizing specialists with new technologies and achievements in the area of the nuclear power industry and machinery."
Representatives of the leading industrial publications, as well as general-purpose information publications, took part in a press conference that was held on the first day of the exhibition.
Mr. Klyuev, President of RSNTTD and Vice President EFNDT, noted that "the exhibition and the conference allow specialists to exchange their experience and establish business contacts, which will result in the development of the Russian industry."
Over 90 companies from Russia, the CIS countries, Germany, and France participated in the exhibition.
The geographic range of the participants from Russia is quite extensive: Ekaterinburg, Novgorod, Voronezh, Penza, Kursk, Ryazan, Novosobirsk, Chelyabinsk, Obninsk, Vladimir, Pyatigorsk, Izhevsk, Elektrostal, Bryansk, St. Petersburg, Moscow, and many more. For the complete list of participants, please visit the exhibition's official site at www.inconex.ru
The participants demonstrated equipment, instruments, and materials for the nuclear power industry, systems for measurement, monitoring, and industrial automation, telecommunications devices and systems, equipment for radiation monitoring, devices for diagnostics of equipment, and more for the guests of the exhibition.
The business program of the exhibition commanded great interest among specialists. The leading companies of the industry delivered papers, and participants discussed the most relevant issues and questions of the industry's development. Below are some of the topics of the papers delivered during the business program:
- ZAO SNIIP Sistematom: New Systems for Control of Emergency Protection of Power Reactors, Contemporary Design of Equipment for Controlling Neutron Flux, ASRK-2000 New-Generation Automated System for Radiation Control;
- Kurchatov Institute, Russian Scientific Center: External System for Controlling Energy Distribution and Parameters in the System of Control and Protection of VVER-Type Reactors;
- OOO RKK Company: Comprehensive Telecommunications Solutions for the Facilities of the Nuclear Power Industry;
- Diapak: Some Aspects of Utilizing Acoustic Methods of Nondestructive Control in the Nuclear Power Industry;
- OAO Alfa Laval Potok: Alfa Laval's Advanced Technologies for the Nuclear Power Industry;

- ZAO KB Prominzhiniring: Optimizing the Volume of Radiation Monitoring on Nuclear Power Plants.
Over 3,400 specialists from the largest industrial companies of Russia, the CIS countries, and abroad visited the exhibition during the three days that it was open.
As a result of a poll of the visitors and participants of the exhibition, the following topics will be added and expanded for the "Nuclear Power and Electric Machinery" Exhibition in the next year:
- certification of equipment
- sensors and automation systems
- electrical motors
- analysis equipment
- handling wastes, etc.
As a part of the competition program of the exhibition, the organizers awarded NPO Rady (Ukraine, Kirovograd) "For Active Participation in the Exhibition," SNIIP SISTEMATOM "For Active Participation in the Business Program," ASU Integratsiya "For An Outstanding Marketing Campaign." The awards ceremony took place during a cocktail party at the opening of the " ATOMIC ENERGY & ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING " Exhibition.
Participants about the exhibition:
"We have established contacts with representatives of the power plants to which we did not supply our equipment before, such as Busher Nuclear Power Plant, Iran.
The exhibition helps us see the main directions and trends in the nuclear power industry and establish business contacts with equipment manufacturers. Generally speaking, the organization of the exhibition deserves the highest praise."
I. Malinin,
Chief Designer of Elektromekhanika Atom, Penza
"We have established contacts with representatives of Volgodonskaya, Balakovskaya, and Smolenskaya nuclear power plants and Belene Nuclear Power plant currently under construction in Bulgaria. We have agreed on the possibility of future cooperation and equipment supplies."
