The third "Atomic Energy & Electrical Engineering. Power Machinery Construction" International Exhibition and Conference, a key event for experts in the field of nuclear power, electrical engineering and power machinery construction was held in Moscow, World Trade Centre on October 9-11, 2007.

The exhibition and conference were organized by INCONEX Ltd, the representative of Moscow Chamber of Commerce.

The exhibition is supported by International Atomic Energy Agency IAEA, Federal Atomic Energy Agency ROSATOM, Federal State Unitary Enterprise ROSENERGOATOM, Federal Department of Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Control ROSTEKHNADZOR, Russian Society for Non-Destructive Testing and Technical Diagnostic RSNTTD, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Academy of Electrotechnical Sciences of Russian Federation.

In the welcome statement addressed to the forum participants the Deputy Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency, Yury A. Sokolov pointed out the following:

"In the modern society issues concerning non-proliferation, the economic and safe use of atomic energy, and international cooperation of specialists in this area acquire critical importance.

I believe international exhibitions and accompanying events provide balanced information on both the potential and the challenges of the peaceful use of atomic energy and magnify the impact of international cooperation on the development of peaceful uses of nuclear power."

The head of Federal Atomic Energy Agency, Segey V. Kirienko wished all the guests and participants of the exhibition every success in establishing new business contacts and developing scientific, technical and economic cooperation. He mentioned that "development of the nuclear energy sector is a priority national objective, which includes building new reactor blocks, ensuring nuclear radiation security, and using the achievements of nuclear science in developing new technologies", in this respect "international specialized exhibition "Atomic Energy & Electrical Engineering. Power Machinery Construction" plays a definite role in improving interregional and international business contacts and promotes cooperation of science and industry professionals."

Alexander M. Lokshin, acting as General Director of Federal State Unitary Enterprise ROSENERGOATOM announced the importance of the exhibition "Atomic Energy & Electrical Engineering. Power Machinery Construction" as follows: "this is the third event of this kind and it traditionally brings to Moscow the leading enterprises of the sector from Russia and abroad. An important event of the sector of atomic energy and electrical engineering and power machine building, it serves a forum for productive business relationship in the sector and facilitates exchange of experience between Russian ad international companies."

Konstantin B. Pulikovsky the head of Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia drew everyone's attention that " development of nuclear energy is of the foremost importance for economy and industry of Russia". He expressed confidence that "networking opportunities and exchange of experience at the event will allow the professional community to reach further heights in improving quality and safety of machinery and equipment."

"The annual Atomic Energy & Electrical Engineering. Power Machinery Construction event is very significant for active innovative activities in science and technology, as it helpes master new technologies and establish Russian manufactures on the home market and abroad" - stressed Vladimir V. Klyuev, member of Russian Academy of Sciences, member of European Academy, Pesident of RSNTTD.

Establishing new business contacts aimed at long-term cooperation contributes to the active promotion of nuclear sector products. This is one of the main objective of the exhibition "Atomic Energy & Electrical Engineering. Power Machinery Construction" said Izyaslav B. Pechkov, the president of Academy of Eletrotechnical Sciences of Russian Federation. He stressed that the exhibition has significant importance for the exchange of up-to-date experience and learning about state-of-the-art developments in science and technologies in the area of atomic energy, electrical engineering and power machinery construction, as "it contributes to progress in Russian industry overall". He expressed special confidence that "the success of the exhibition will facilitate development and introduction of new advanced and highly effective technologies".

Alexander N. Shokhin, the president of Russian Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs pointed out that "international forums are extremely important for holding business meetings, establishing solid business ties, strengthening and promoting inter-regional and international cooperation. International exhibitions and conferences, unquestionably, are the most effective way of integrating efforts of specialists in the area of science, industry and entrepreneurship.

In the first day of the exhibition the press-conference was held. The specialists of leading domestic and foreign companies of nuclear sector took part in it alongside with the representatives of Russian and foreign specialized information editions and information TV channels: ITAR-TASS, Interfax, RIA News, FORBS, RBK daily, RBK TV etc.

The main event of the press-conference was the speech of Victor S. Opekunov, the chairman of Subcommittee for atomic energy and Committee for energy, transport and communication of State Duma. After the speech Victor Semyonovich answered many questions crucial for the sector professionals, the directors of major enterprises and mass media representatives. The general character of the posed questions stressed one more time the necessity of regular meetings of specialists.

More than 180 leading enterprises of the sector from 9 countries presented their products at the exhibition "Atomic Energy & Electrical Engineering. Power Machinery Construction" this year. The list of exhibitors includes leading companies from Germany, France, Korea, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Slovakia, the Ukraine and Kazakhstan as well as scientific centers and industrial enterprises from 25 regions of Russia.

The exhibition was divided into three main sections: atomic energy engineering, electrical engineering and power machine construction.

The exhibitors presented for the visitors' attention equipment, machines and materials for atomic energy and electrical engineering, measurement systems, control and industrial automation, communication means and systems, radiation control and diagnostic equipment etc.

High tech elaborations were presented by the leading domestic enterprises of the sector, among them there are OKB Gidropress, UE "Mayak", All-Russia Research Institute of Automatics named after N.L.Dukhov, Measurement Systems Research Institute named after Yu.E. Sedakov, concern ROSENERGOATOM, Electrogorsk Research and Engineering Center on NPP Safety, OJSC "Electrocentronaladka" & Chernogolovka (SONET) E4 Group, Corporation Splav, "Atomtechenergo Company", "EMAllience," "Rittal", "Energomashcorporatsia", VSMPO-AVISMA, "Gidromashservice", "ZIO-Podolsk" & EK "ZIOMAR", Nevsky Plant Electroschit, "Mashimpeks", OJSC "Electromontazh", "Electroshield - TM Samara" and many others. Cable and conductor products were presented by the major manufacturers such as "Sevcabel-Holding", "Saranskkabel" plant, "Zvetlit", "VNIIKP", "Uncomtech" etc.

Among the foreign participants the following companies took part in the exhibition: Sempell AG (Germany), Sempell AG (Germany), Vanatome (France), CCI, REEL (Cifalgroup), BTG Slovensko, Chladici Veze Praha A.S., Interpriborservice, DongWoo Electric Corp., DK Tech etc.

The conference including over 10 reports was held during the exhibition. In is framework the specialists could discuss the most actual issues concerning development of the sector.

Over 4 500 specialists from 110 cities of Russia, and 8 countries visited the exhibition during the three days that it was open.

In the framework of the competition program the organizers rewarded the following companies with memorable diplomas: "Atomtechenergo Company" - the diploma for active participation in the exhibition, SNIIP Science and Engineering Center - the diploma for active participation in the business program, Federal Atomic Energy Agency ROSATOM - the diploma for the contribution in science, technical and business cooperation between the enterprises of the sector.

The ceremony of handing of memorable diplomas took place at the evening festive reception in honor of opening the exhibition.

"It is pleasure to point out that the exhibition gave the opportunity of discussing different technical aspects of the equipment presented with skilled specialists who are aware of the details and peculiarities of its practical application. New equipment is bought at the moment, that's why it is crucial to get the actual information. In the appropriate business climate of the exhibition fruitful there were meetings with the representatives of Cheboksarskiy Plant "Electrosila", Electschield (Samara), OJSC "Electrocentronaladka". The interesting exposition was presented on cable products. The company Roxtec Ru offered an interesting and economic decision on cable capsulation".
