Atomic Energy & Electrical Engineering. Power Machinery Construction 2008

The key event in the area of nuclear power, electrical engineering and power machinery construction - the 4th International conference and exhibition ATOMIC ENERGY & ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING. POWER MACHINERY CONSTRUCTION 2008 was held 7-9 October in Moscow, World Trade Center.

Scince 2005, when the nuclear power sector in Russia celebrated its 60th anniversary, the International conference and exhibition "Atomic Energy & Electrical Engineering. Power Machinery Construction" has become the traditional business platform for cooperation between specialists, demonstrating the high potential of the nuclear power sector. The event acquires the special importance in the frameworks of realization of the Federal goal-oriented program on modernisation of functionning NPPs and construction of new power units According to the appendix to the order N 608, bearing the date of November, 29, 2007, the 4th International confrrence and exhibition ÀÒÎÌIC ENERGY & ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING. POWER MACHINERY CONSTRUCTION 2008 was included in the list of exhibition and fair events with assistance of ROSATOM.
Official support: State Corporation ROSATOM, ENERGOATOM Concern, Russian society for non-destructive testing and technical diagnostics RSNTTD, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Academy of Electrotechnical sciences RF.

Aim of the Exhibition and business program: interregional and international cooperation between the specialists of the sector, conolidation of the efforts of nuclear power specialists and partners from adjacent sectors concerning the issues of power supply, safety and efficiency.

In his welcome statetment to the exhibitors and visitors the Minister of Energy RF S.I. Shmatko noted the following: "The development of power complex and preservation of the leading position on the market of energy carriers is the main priority of our country. Annual holding the specialised exhibition "Atomic Energy & Electrical Engineering" is crucial for experience and advanced technologies exchange, as well as it helps to unite specialists in the area of science and industry, contributes to strengthening productive business contacts and develops interindustrial collaboration."

Having wished all the participants and guests every success in establishing new business contacts and development of scientific, tehnical and commercial cooperation, General director of State corporation ROSATOM S.V.Kirienko stressed: "International specialised exhibition "Atomic Energy & Electrical Engineering. Power Machinery Construction 2008" will undoubtedly contribute to consolidation of international cooperation between specialists working in the area of peaceful nuclear power exploitation and promote the solution of important aims facing the Russian Atomic industry."

S.A.Obozov, General drector of Rosenergoatom Concern pointed out: "The government of Russia Federation approved the goal-oriented program of development of power engineering. Nuclear power engineering is facing a number of major problems such as modernization of functioning units and construction of new NPPs. Under these circumstances the role of interregional and international cooperation between nuclear power specialists and adjoining industries increases. Undoubtedly, the conduction of international forums promotes in the best way of creating and increasing the level of scientific, technical and economical cooperation in area of usage of nuclear power exploitation."

Stressing the importance of international cooperation between specialists, Adrian Collings, Director of policy development of World Nuclear Association applied to the exhibitors and visitors: "It is now widely accepted that nuclear power will expand rapidly over the coming years. And this expansion will take place not only in countries with well established nuclear programmes and industries, but also in an increasing number of countries that will be introducing nuclear power for the first time. The expansion of nuclear power will require the sustained support of nuclear companies across the world, and it is clear that this support will have to be provided increasingly on an international and even global scale."

"This Exhibition and Conference has become the traditional place for business meetings, contacts between specialists and demonstration of high potential of nuclear-power engineering. This event provides up-to-the minute information about achievements and progress of scientists and specialists in sphere of elaboration and production of equipment for NPPs as well as for electrical industry. The necessity of successful realization of Federal Program for modernization of functioning units and construction of new NPPs attaches special importance to this event" - stressed V.V.Kluev, Member of RAS, member of European Academy, President of RSNTTD, President of ECNDT-10.

Establishing new business contacts aimed at long-term cooperation contributes to the active promotion in the nuclear power sector. This is one of the main aims of the exhibition "Atomic Energy and Electrical Engineering. Power Machinery Construction", according to I.B.Peshkov, President of Russian Academy of electrotechnical sciences. He stressed the following: "For the years of work the exhibition has been able to gain considerable prestige in the area of establishing and strengthening relations between the enterprises of nuclear power, electrical engineering and power machinery construction sector, not only in Russia, but also all over the world. The products presented at the exhibition, allow to assess, from the one hand, the modern level of industry, involved in this area; from the other hand - the high potential of such sectors, as nuclear power, electrical engineering and power machinery construction."

On behalf of Russian union of industrialists and entrepreneurs V.Yu.Alekperov, Chairman of the Committee for Power policy, congratulated the exhibitors and visitors: "The present day nuclear power sector is the unique mix of the experience and innovative solutions, obligatory state approach and growth of private initiative in the area of scientific search, technical projects and technological solutions. In my opinion, here, on the base of the international exhibition, demonstrating the latest achievements in the area of nuclear power, electrical engineering, up-to-date power machinery construction, this cooperation will get the strong impuls to the rapprochment of interests of the State and business community. Certainly, it will also open the new opportunities of realizing the theoretic laying out into the prospective and highly productive elaborations, it will strenghthen the relationships between the countries - members of the nuclear club and the enterprises in the area of peaseful atom.

At the first day of the exhibition the press-conference was held, specialists of the leading home and foreign enterprises of the nuclear power sector took pace in it, as well as the representatives of Russian and foreign branch and information editions and information TV cannels such as: ITAR-TASS, Interfax, PRIME-TASS, TV CENTER, Russia Today, Radio "Govorit Moskva", Teleradiocompany MIR, TV Stolitsa, REN-TV, RBC daily, RBC TV and many others.

The central event of the press conference was the speech of V.S.Poroykov, Deputy director of the Department of joint project management of the Ueropean comission for Nuclear safety. After the speech Vladimir Sergeevich answered a number of questions interesting for the specialists of the sector, directors of the major enterprises and the representatives of mass media. The main character of the questions stressed one more time the necessity of regural meetings for specialists.

O.V.Rozhkov, Deputy director of the Department for security and disarmament of the Ministry of foreign affairs RF gave publicity to the congratulation from the Ministry of foreign affairs at the opening ceremony.

About 200 leading enterprises of the sector from 8 countries presented their products at the exhibition "Atomic Energy & Electrical Engineering. Power Machinery Construction 2008". Among them there are leading companies from Germany, France, Korea, Czech Republic, Belorussia, Ukraine, Great Britain, scientific centers and production enterprises from 27 cities of Russia.

The exhibition profile includes 3 main product category: atomic energy, electrical engineering and power machinery construction.
The exhibitors provided the information about the equipment, devices and materials for nuclear power industry and electrical engineering, control and measuring systems, industrial automation, communication systems, radiationcontrol devices, diagnostic equipment etc.

The leading home production enterprises and scientific centers presented their high tech elaborations. Among them: Atomenergoexport, VNIIAES, State corporation ROSATOM, Energoatom Concern, Kursk Plant Mayak, Power Machines, Energomash, VSMPO-AVISMA, Ruspolymet, VNIIAM, Saturn - Gas turbines, VNNI after N.L.Dukhov, Elemer, CIS LUCH, Atomenergoproekt, SPAEP, NIIIS after Yu.E.Sedakov, Kurchatovsky Institute, Russian Federal Nuclear Center VNIIEF, NIPOM, Gidromashservice, SNIIP and many other enterprises from 27 cities of Russia.

Among the international participants of the business program: Skoda Power (Czech Republic), Internormen Technology (Germany), Hansung Co. (Korea), PK Valve (Korea), Radiy (Ukraine), Amideon (Ireland), Sempell (Germany), Auma (Germany), Trubostal (Ukraine), Esterel (France), INTERGRAPH SWEDEN and other foreign companies.

In the frameworks of the business program of the exhibition the discussion of the first results of consortium of elaborators and manufacturers of equipment of automated cotrol systems for NPP-2006 was held. The first report at the conference "Automated control systems for NPP-2006" was the report by I.R.Kogan - Senior engineer of Department of complex designing for electrical engineering and automated control system for technological process management, Atomenergoproekt JSC (Moscow). The conference was held with the assistance of VNIIAES, NIIIS after Yu.E.Sedakov, Kurchatovsky Institute, VNIIA after N.L.Dukhov, VNIIEM, Instrument making factory, SPAEP, CIS LUCH etc.

The round table discussion on the issues of power machinery construction in Russia was moderated by G.G.Olkhovsky, Executive director of All-Russia Thermo-technical Scientific and researc institute, member of RAS, Power department. The reports by MEI (TU), VNIIAM, LMZ, REMKO Company group, Alstom Atomenergomash etc. were made during the round table discussion "Power machinery construction: trends, development and prospective.

Business events were hald alongside the exhibition: "Education and raising the level of skills for nuclear power specialists","NPP: assured security and efficiency", "Construction and modernization of NPPs" and "Up-to-the minute information tecnologies for support throuthout the life-cycle of NPP units: prospectives and lines of development" (with the assistance of NEOLANT compant incorporate with INTERGRAPH SWEDEN).

During 3 days of work iver 4 500 specialists of major industrial enterprises of Russia, CIS and foreign countries.

In the framework of the competition program the organisers presented the memory diplomas to the following companies: POWER MACHINES and ATONTECHENERGO - for the active participation in the exhibition, VNIIAES - for the active participation in the business program, SKODA POWER - for the contribution to the development of international cooperation.
The festive ceremony of handing the memory diplomas was held at the evening reception on the ocasion of opening the exhibition.
